FRIEND OR SAME TEAM REQUESTS:
We recognize that children enjoy playing with their friends and classmates. To foster fellowship and fun, we make every effort to accommodate a friend or team request but cannot guarantee it. When registering, you will be able to indicate up to two friend requests. You may also request a return to the same team as the fall 2019 season. Ultimately, requests will be accommodated if it would not upset the balance of equitably skilled players in the league and there is room on the roster when registration is completed. Thanks for your understanding.
PRACTICE NIGHT CONFLICTS:
Our U6-U14 teams' practices are determined by coach preference with most age groups having options available each weeknight at 515pm or 615 pm. U6-U14 players may indicate up to two nights that they cannot attend practices. Practice night conflicts will be avoided when assigning players to teams.
Kickeroos (U4/U5)- teams meet once per week on Saturdays for practices and games beginning March 2.
U6-U14- teams meet twice per week (once for practice and once for scheduled game.) Practices begin the week of February 18. Games are held weekly on Saturdays beginning March 2. Some weekday evening and Sunday afternoon games may be scheduled for makeups as needed.
RAIN OUT INFORMATION/CANCELLATION:
To the extent possible, we will communicate cancellations and delays no later than 4:30pm weekdays and 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays, with updates throughout the day as needed. Parents may opt in to our Text Alert system during online registration. In addition, field status will be posted on our website and team pages.
All players must wear shin guards covered with socks. Cleats are encouraged but not required. Every player will receive a team jersey to be distributed before first games. The league does not require that names be added to the jerseys. If your team decides to have names put on the back, a team parent often collects all the jerseys after the first game and brings the order for imprinting. The league does not offer name imprinting. Coaches will receive a DUMC coach shirt to be worn on game days.
The coaches will serve as referees for the Kickeroos (U4/U5) and U6 league. Referees are provided for U8 and older teams.
Unsportsmanlike conduct by players, coaches or fans will not be tolerated. This includes dangerous play, profanity, disrespect or yelling at the referees or players. Any violation of conduct rules will result in immediate expulsion from the game and a 1-game suspension for the following game. Two violations in this area during a season will result in expulsion from the league. This applies to coaches, parents, players, fans, and siblings!
SAFE SANCTUARY TRAINING:
Dunwoody UMC is a Safe Sanctuary Facility. All volunteer coaches, including assistant coaches, are required to be Safe Sanctuary certified .
Each game will begin with the home team coach leading both teams in a prayer at center field. At the conclusion of the game, each team will form a line to shake hands with each other at mid-field.
